We are fixing up an 1870 Victorian in Richmond. The goal is to keep as much of its original character as possible.

Basement bathroom
Six feet wide and somehow full of problems
We lowered the floor, repaired years of water damage, and fit a 48 × 42-inch shower into a bathroom that is roughly 5.8 × 6.8 feet.

The upstairs hall + staircase
Picture frame molding, impossible angles, and a stair runner added after three spectacular falls.

A tiny vestibule for shoes, mail, umbrellas, and Bailey and Maggie’s leashes.

A double vanity, medicine cabinets, and the storage we found hiding beside the shower.
